HAPPY SUNDAY!
Thank you for joining us - grab a cuppa and let’s chill together!
The definition of forgiveness varies from person to person - however the very most basic definition is to move on from that situation that gave you resentment. You can resent people, institutions and even yourself but one must learn the value of forgiveness.
Forgiveness is not forgetting the situation nor is it fake for example telling your ex-boyfriend that he is forgiven for cheating on you when inside you are filled with rage. Forgiveness is beyond that. It is finding inner peace within yourself and moving on - you do not even need to tell the person involved they are forgiven - it is simply you honestly accepting the situation that gave you resentment and starting the journey of moving on.
It may initially feel easy to hold a grudge, could even feel fun, giving you a sense of power but later on that will eventually tumble down to a feeling of misery and bitterness - you will be having many regrets! Do not do this to yourself, friend.
Forgive for better mental health. Forgive for better relationships. Forgive for the abuser to learn from their mistake and get a second chance in exchange for you receiving freedom of the mind, body and soul. If you cannot forgive, take a few deep breaths and practice empathy - put yourself in their shoes - what would you do in that situation? How would you feel? Reflect on why the situation occurred in the first place, talk to the person involved to gain that sense of closure. Talk to your loved ones or even seek counselling. Even think about those times you have made mistakes and how you have been forgiven for maybe eating dad’s pie in the fridge or borrowing a pencil in kindergarten and not giving it back to your mate (we all have done that at some stage in our life).
Forgiveness is not easy but none of us are perfect. We all make mistakes. Holding grudges keeps us away from other opportunities that await us.
Forgive and let go. Make use of Scholarship Track and the many opportunities we bring you to your inbox.

QUOTE OF THE WEEK
“I have been incredibly privileged, not in the sense that I came from a wealthy family, but that I had access to information about opportunities, and the support from my family to pursue them. As an entrepreneur, I have, of course, faced my share of challenges, from income instability to sleeping in a sleeping bag for eight months. However, I think hardships are always a character-building experience. Every entrepreneur’s career is littered with stories of sleeping under a table at the office and surviving on the cheapest take-outs.”
